Weaver’s Wine Bar

An extension of the existing “the Weaver” pub next door, this is for those who dont really want to associate with playing pool, watching football or listening to drunk men rambling on in a corner about better times. This more up-market experience tries to push a wine-bar image with leather couches, candle-light although the wine-list is not particularly appealing. Nothing of a higher class appears to be available to choose and for a wine bar it seems to stock very little wine indeed. However this is now possibley the monly place to go if you are a couple on a romantic night out after visiting the cinema opposite and iss actually the only bar of its type in all of new barnet.

Overall it is literally just an extension of the pub next door. An interconnecting door bring staff and punters in from the pub to bar and vise-versa, bringing with it the pub attitude of the bar persons and the loud drone of unsavory musics. However this place at least attempts to touch on a niche - and as yet has not become overcrowded in the fashion that After Office hours up the road has become accustomed to - 6/10

The pubs in Barnet have an incredible heritage, highlighted in Richard Selby’s recent book about Barnet pubs. I have to say this is one of the best books on the history of Barnet and well worth a read.

The weaver is a great pub with a very nice atmosphere all of the staff that work their ar very nice and welcoming. the price is quite expensive but it is worth it with the nice atmosphere. they are very strict with i.d. as on friday and saturday it is only over 21’s. it is a nice pub with great atmosphere i would give it a 9.5 out of 10 and i would strongly recomend it to every1

As well as a very short wine list, there’s a distinct lack of ‘proper’ beer. Won’t be going back there any time soon.

21st Birthday Party at the Weaver

We celebrated our son’s 21st birthday at the weaver. Everyone who attended enjoyed the food, drink, and great atmosphere and the very friendly staff. We had a fun evening.
We would recommend it for any celebration.
