The White Lion

This pub is an absolute disgrace. It has the worst shape and layout ever, the garden area is cramped and smelly and the Bar, goodness me. There were 2 bar staff last time I went and we asked for 2 shots of sambuca and 2 shots of tequila. No, no shots at this bar, WHAT?? No, no Sambuca, Tequila, Port, Malibu, Archers or wine, oh and we drank the last of the Tia Maria. 1 type of lager there as well boys!!

Shameful establishment overall it gets a 1/10 but the best selection of Whisky you ever did see!

Since the day of your visit when the establishment when the establishment was under temporary management the situation has greatly improved, under the good management of “Berney Mullin” you can now be assured of a good welcome to a cosy two bar public house, with a large dining area, and a practical garden area, part of which is protected with a large umbrella. There is also a good selection of larger and beers, together with a vast selection of whisky’s, spirits and liqueurs, (even Sambuca, Tequila, Port, and Malibu etc.) Also a good selection of both red and white wines at reasonable prices. The local CAMERA group hold their monthly meetings there. It is the ideal place to visit if you are hungry there is a good menu together with a number of daily specials served both at lunch time, seven days a week and in the evenings Monday’s to Friday’s. Why not give it a visit and try it for yourself, I do not think you will be disappointed.

New Management from July 2008, and you can really see the difference. The bar is well run, and the food is excellent. The chef really knows his business, and offers a wide and varied menu that includes some great Mediterranean cuisine. It’s family friendly and the outdoor seating is partly covered and heated. The owners will really make you feel welcome. Try it!!
