Builders Arms

The builders arms has a tone of self love. An inward community of elderly drinkers huddled in two tiny room amist expensive but common ales and chav barmaids. Posted on its walls are adverts for locals to join in pub competitions and a proud statement of “we are the best voted bar on beerintheevening.com” . The simple silence of acknowledgement of strangers is hard to bear much after the first scrumpy jack pint and I leave to brave the cold of the outdoors- far warmer than the cold local stares within.
I’ll go to the wetherspoons next door in future!! Overall a shody 2/10.
Please see above a very accurate map of this pub location. Do not trust other sites that put pubs in the wrong place, I have actually visited this pub and unless it has grown legs it sits exactly where shown on the map above.

The best local pub in Barnet.

my husband and myself (terry and wendy)ran the builders arms about 12 years ago.We enjoyed our 18 months there we must have been the last managers before it went to tenancy. The locals were very interesting. the front bar was more like a ladies and gentlemans club and the back bar was full of mainly builders and wealthy business men.to try and keep all happy was a challenge to say the least but most enjoyable.we have very fond memories
