The Pitcher and Piano
This was the first Pitcher and Piano I had ever been to. I entered on a red carpet through large doors held open by friendly bouncers into a wall of heat and persons. The music was commercial pop, the decor exhibited red padded walls and although it appeared rather funky it was a little small. The clientele were trendy, so much so that the girls had orange skin from fake tan and although there was no room to breath at 8pm there was massages being given in the middle of the room, which inevitably meant elbow in your drinks and your party of five crammed into a smelly nook beside the long bar. The bar staff took a long time to serve although the drinks were excellent but a bit expensive at £5.50 each. Although it wasn’t dark like many bars can be this was way too loud to hear yourself speak.
Overall evening time is too late and although it may get a better mark in the day it gets a 4/10 at 9pm.

I went there this Saturday and had a rocking night. The music was good (can’t beat a bit of cheese) and the staff were lovely and quite obviously having fun themselves, which was infectious. I never had to wait more than a few minuets at the Bar all my drinks were served quickly and tasted brilliant. Didn’t have to pay to put my coach in and didn’t have to wait in a massive huge to get it out. The only problem was there was a massive queue for the ladies, ideally this needs to be bigger and nicer but other than this it was a real find, and not full of stuck up people! I just loved this place; I will come back again and again.

Strictly for the clueless and desperate; cramming too many people in is no substitute for atmosphere. Corporate decor, a surprisingly limited selection of drinks at the bar (with a lengthy wait to get served there), with music that’s so loud that it’s impossible to have a conversation, but without any space to dance. Can’t really make up its mind what it’s supposed to be, other than a mechanism for parting people who don’t know any better from their money and giving them a lukewarm time in return.
