The Phoenix Pub

A traditional pub swamped in a maze of terrifyingly high buildings and booming commerce, the Phoenix look like fairly small pub from the outside but within its a little on the grander side, the decor is masterful with heavy woods and marble, talkative crowds and much laughter. In fact I would say it is larger than you could imagine such a venue being, it rises and falls on one or two plateaus within and winds around a corner at the back. The prices are very reasonable for the area with a menu of drinks that is mediocre. The service at the bar however is slow but there is room to get served so its not overly busy. There are few few tables to dwell at however on a Friday night at around 9pm, since most of the tables are small little things cramming 4 people at a time around them.
Overall one of the stranger location to expect to find a pub, let alone one in as good a condition as this but with skyscrapers surrounding this shorter venue I don’t see the phoenix rising out of any ashes to be seen by many passersby soon. That being said it will keep itself quiet enough to enjoy a giggle even if it does take the best part of half an hour for the barman to present you with a round - 5/10
