Mario’s Bar and Kebab Shop

Mario’s is a total marvel to behold, a kebab shop which is also a bar is a fantastic idea and waiting in line for my burger and chips under the bright 1000 watt lights of the kebab house front we suddenly realise that we can take our polystyrene lunchboxes into the veneu with us. The bar is a compelte mashup of old furniture, loud talking muslim men and pool tables. The music stips on its single scratched CD as we eat and head to the bar for a couple of alco-pops. Unfortunaltey the prices of the drinks are a lot higher than the cheap food in Marios kebab room and our opinion of the place quickly deminishes as we look into the back of the bar to see what resembles old living room furniture, bought about 20 years before and likely dragged from a skip down the road. The lighting is all wrong and the venue feels very haphazard and unwelcoming.

Overall the idea of a kebab shop in the middle of a bar is something that would get many drinkers beaming from ear to ear - totally eliminating the need to seek out a hot beverage later on in the evening but in fact Marios is a dive, the furniture is ugly, the clientele are rude and the food is rather awful - 4/10
