Glasshouse Bar and Nightclub

A large den for students. This is what i wrote in my show notes for the venue upon walking in, drinking and then leaving. As far as my memories stretch this place is a large theatre of a venue with two floors, the upstairs completely pitch black but with a galley overlooking onto the bar which sits at the very back with shelves poking up on high along the back wall. There is a good selection of drinks with many beers and ciders and on the bar surface are laminated menus of cocktails and shooters for resident students to gawk at where one pound shots are the order of the day. The quality of the alcohol has a lot to be desired and the clientele, although very few are the kind poking around in their pockets for coppers among balls of lint and penknives. The venue is dark, with many empty tables (even at 9pm on a Friday night) and an overly ornate staircase leading down to the toilets.
Overall it seems the stduent population of leicester has abandoned this pub in favour of all the other on offer, and for why I cannot tell other than the slowish bar service and the seemingly unpaid electricity bills to keep the lights on upstairs - 5/10
