The White Hart Pub

In the tranquility of the astounding silent city of Hertford sits what looks like a small traditional pub among the cobbled roads and bright sunshine. A few clean looking tables out front look enticing and the rear beer garden, viewable on approach also look inviting. So in we head, sun on our backs. The inside of the pub holds a lot of light, it has been refurbished to appear clean and gastro-like with well polished silver beer taps, gleaming wooden furnishings and brand new leather sofas in different shades of post-modern brown. The bar staff are smiling as we enter, friendly and entertaining despite there being only one other couple inside. Taking drinks I notice a four jagerbombs for ten pounds sign (quite a reasonable price to pay) and I imagine this place filling of a Friday night where such drinks hold their appeal to make this place one of the talk of the town.

Sitting the beer garden out back the mood is very temperate and relaxing except that every now and then a builders wolf whistle and immature male laughter remind me we are in the centre of town. Overall the White Hart is a really nice pub, it is completely inviting during the daytime but I cannot pass judgement of an evening but with Jagerbombs on offer I’d certainly head here myself so a few - 8/10
