The Waterend Barn (Lloyds Bar)

Opened February 2005 this place is an old historical building that was purchased by the Wetherspoons group and established as a quality Bar and Restaurant. The Pub has tables outside dimly lit in green and inside is a big hall of excited youthful crowds that are packing into the bar for there pints. The serving times are short, the drinks are pretty cheap for the area and the atmosphere is very friendly, the music accompanying being of assorted young tastes. The effect of brick, fireplaces and large leather sofas makes this place feel very comfortable and inviting. the toilets too are served by a courteous gentleman and the bouncers are also accommodating.

Overall I give this Lloyds bar an 8/10. One of the nicest in the area. The 2million pound revamp was well worth it!

I would NOT recommend anybody to go to this pub. I went there for a dinner with my colleagues. We ordered 3 rib eye stakes. We were told that we could not have tab open so we had to pay at the counter. After half and hour manager/ supervisor came to us and said that they had only 2 rib eyes available. We changed our order and ordered something else which was actually much cheaper than rib eye. No refunds were offered for the difference.When they eventually brought the meals it was already cold and overcooked. There was only one rib eye out of 2 premised at the second time. We asked for the clarifications . Same manager told us angrily : “SO WHAT WE MADE A MISTAKE!”. This was not followed by an apology or anything of that sort. This pub overcharges its customers, has very rude staff and awful food.

no as a day pub its not great, it makes its money in the evening with the lloyds bar. But i wouldn recomend it if u dont like over crouded places, its stuffy and over priced

I went with some friends on a Friday nite….loved it the atmosphere was great…good disco…… can’t wait to go again.

I think this pub is great. The girls are really stupid and easy to get into bed. Drinks are quite cheap as well. Nice smoking area outside too!

Come here every thurs/fri/sat - best place in St Albans and beats the whole of Watford hands down! Cheap and great atmosphere, the staff as well are awesome!
