Woodhey House Hotel Bar

At first sight, I arrive in Hooton at around 10pm one Friday evening to find the bar closed. Disappointed but ready for the day to come I ignore and return back to the hotel the following evening. The bar is alive with the 60th birthday party of someone present. At kids are divided from the adults, all sit around swigging cheap cider from the promising selection at the bar but the mock dance floor (being held together with duct tape, is dangerous, the DJ pumps out tunes from the 50 and 60’s but the two metre square dance floor is alive with girls who look to be hitting fourteen wearing inappropriate clothing clutching alcopops. Truly surprised we head to the bar, service is fast and friendly but cringing at the thought of joining those on the dance floor we take the drinks to our rooms.
Overall this is the perfect venue if you haven’t got a penny to your name and want to celebrate a birthday without any style - still I guess there’s not much choice for venues if you live this far from civilisation - 5/10
