The Shropshire Arms

The Shropshire Arms is a very bad take on a traditional pub turned Gastro. The main thing about a successful modern pub is ensuring that the clients match the decor and in this case the error is plain to see, the occupants are a cheap and brutish crowd, the old mouthy locals that occupied this place before it was newly decorated and they don’t seem at all comfortable within. The toilets are on the first floor which is silent and creaky with newly laid floorboards even at the height of a Saturday night.
Overall probably the cheapest gaastro around, drinks can be purchased at pub prices but it feels like a poor effort where, in this case the pub may have been better off leaving it to the traditional hands and local regulars to keep the venue occupied - 3/10

The person who wrote the first article sounds quite bitter and twisted, wonder if he has been banned!! or is he/she part of the goth crowd that used to frequent the shrop that did not want it to change, we did and are glad the change took place.
The guy Keith has it spot on there is a great atmosphere, super cask beer and they know how to throw a party suited for all age groups.
The person who wrote the first article needs to chill out and get a life.

Sorry Greg - you are a total plonker. The Shrop is a warm, friendly fun pub, with excellent staff. The customer service is second to none and Tom, the youngest Pub Manager in Chester is friendly, great fun and welcoming to newcomers. The Bands each week are great; Tom puts a lot of effort into entertaining his many regulars, (who are definitely NOT brutish). and the parties are brilliant. I’m probably one of Tom’s oldest regulars, but still made to feel welcome by Tom and the crowd, so give it another try with an open mind, but if you don’t like fun, then don’t bother, you won’t be missed !!

im one of the so called brutish regulars, funny realy not barred from any pub in the country, we at the shropshire do luck out for each other and if ther was more of that in this country then perhaps the country would still be called great britain.
