The Amber Lounge
On the Top shelf of central Chester sits the Amber lounge, a location whose name has apparently changed more times that than the guard outside Buckingham palace in the last few months. Outside is your usual balding burly bouncers and past the door is a slim bar which climbs up a short staircase up at the back to a second level overlooking the front. The crowd is of 30 somethings and the service at the bar although relatively fast slows down which numbers surge at the weekend. The cocktails are pricey but they are worth every penny! The place is also notably lively and would do magnificently with more seating and generally more room.
Overall a standard model for a good bar in Chester as well as elsewhere around the country 7/10
