    Hi Greg Just got directed here from Fancyapint which is run by a couple of guys I know via my sis.

    I would like to suggest a weekend in Wincanton in Somerset and environs would be well spent for discovering pubs. There are several nice ones in town and many others nearby.
    Could give you a list to start you off.
    If you wanted a real laugh then there is a Discworld weekend at the end of November and you could end up drinking surrounded by witches, wizards, trolls and ladies of the night.

    Greg, I’m very impressed by your mission. I’ve been doing my own London pubs and bar list and have visited over 530 in 11 years, although I’m yet to decide whether to turn it into a blog. It’s good to see I’m not alone in this sort of pursuit although you are far ahead of me!

    I believe there are a total of around 57,000 pubs in the UK with places closing down and new ones opening up all the time. I’ve seen a website made by some guy who visited every pub in Oxford (theoxfordpubguide.co.uk) and I hope there might be one for London eventually.

    What a hero! Pubs need you!

    ..and you are doing an admirable job documenting them! One day your blog will be an important historical resource - of the way things USED TO BE - when we had pubs in the UK :-(
