WD40 Invades your Bar Toilet

In a clever technique endorsed by landlords across the country, many will begin to see (if they haven’t already) the current attempt to war on drug abuse in establishments meant for drinking, the weapon? WD-40. The idea is that by spraying every flat surface in the cubicle with an oily substance, those surfaces will become unusable as drug-preparation platforms for drug users.

In particular WD-40 binds with the likes of Cocaine and Cannabis and renders those drugs unusable. Suddenly pub, bar and club toilets are no longer havens for drug-takers that require the use of a toilet seat or shelf to enjoy their substances.

The downside is that it must be quite expensive for the landlord to keep spraying all the cubicles in an establishment, an unpleasant smell is left drifting and surfaces which could be gripped before by partially disabled users suddenly lose their relationship with the force of friction and become inaccessible dangerous facilities to use.

So perhaps this seemingly ingenious idea is not the establishment saving - anti drug weapon, it first appears to be but by contaminating usable surfaces, landlords are certainly on the right track to tackling the problem.
